Rolex
Fastnet Race 2007 If there is
one race you should experience in your lifetime, this
is it! The Fastnet Race is one of the worlds classic
ocean races and, on occasions, can be one of the toughest.
The race is organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club
(RORC) and starts on the 12th August 2007.
The
608 mile course, from Cowes to Plymouth, tests skippers
and crews with its tricky tidal currents and changeable
weather conditions. The biennial race will attract
over 250 yachts from sailing countries around the
world, with both amateur and professional crews. In
order to prepare crews and yachts, we adhere to a
comprehensive training programme that requires an
additional commitment of 3 weekends prior to the event
entered are a fleet fleet of Farr 65s and Beneteau
40.7 yachts and we offer individual crew places to
anyone wishing to take part. As an essential member
of crew you will be involved in all aspects of training
and racing the yachts.

Training
& Qualifying In order to compete
RORC have certain qualifying requirements for the
crews and yachts. Our campaign programme encompasses
those requirements to ensure everyone onboard is eligible
to take part but also importantly brings everyone
together, gaining more time on the water to train,
race and work together as a crew.
Whilst we must comply with RORC qualifying requirements,
a key focus of our programme is to take our time to
train and fully prepare crews for offshore racing.
It is essential that crew are not rushed into a race
environment without proper training. Therefore, the
3 weekends prior to the Fastnet Race will combine
a training and race environment.
